What's in my carry on
Longchamp Le Pliage Tote | Macbook Pro & charger | iPhone 6 {gold} | Lilly Pulitzer Travel charger | smartwater 1L | travel neckpillow | Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn | Headphones | Burt's Bee's chapstick
Longchamp Le Pliage Tote | I got this tote about a year ago in New York. I was skeptical about the price tag, but man have I gotten my money's worth! I love how roomy this tote is! It's the perfect size for my carry on, as it fits my laptop! The only downside to this tote to it doesn't have any storage pockets, everything just kinda free floats, so I normally try and use zip up makeup bags to kinda seperate everything and keep it organized.
Macbook Pro & charger | I always like to have my computer with me when I travel in case I need to use it for the internet (aka netflix). I like to pack my charger with me as well if I run low on battery.
iPhone 6 | My phone serves as my iPod for long plane rides. I loove Spotify! I have a bunch of playlists to pick from so I'm never without music. I'm a frequent checker of social media as well (gotta stay updated!).
Lilly Pulitzer travel charger | A must have for those dumb iPhone batteries (that die much too quickly).
Smartwater 1L | I'm a big water drinker when I travel. The airplanes always dry out my oily skin, so I love this HUGE bottle of water to keep with me all day.
Travel neckpillow | Okay, honestly I used to laugh at people who lugged these bad boys around the air port, but now I understand. This thing is a life saver! It makes sleeping on the plane 1000 times easier and more comfortable!
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn | I always carry a book with me when I travel (#bookworm) and this is my latest read. I saw the movie and I was completely and utterly mind freaked (for lack of a better term). I saw this book in Target for 12 bucks and I picked it up. It is a little slow getting started, but so far so good.
Headphones | My favorite headphones are the gummy ones, so of course I had to include this in my essentials.
Burt's Bee's chapstick | The original formula is my all time favorite. I love the minty smell and the formula! This stuff saves my lips from cracking and drying.

First things first
Let’s get this straight- I am not a “blogger.” I don’t exactly have a way with words. I’m not always sure of what to say. But one thing I do know is that I love (I mean LOOOVE) fashion, and beauty and all things us southern girls pride ourselves on. I’m starting this blog as a creative outlet for me to write about fashion, and beauty, and life in general.
First things first, I’ll tell you a bit about me. My name is Madison. I am a freshman in college at Louisiana State University (can I get a GEAUX TIGERS?!). I’m going to be majoring in Fashion Merchandising, with hopes of one day being a buyer for a big company or owning my own boutique. I’ll be rushing as well, so I hope to definitely write about my rush experience and future sisterhood (fingers crossed!). I am a dog lover, as well as a perfectionist, and somewhat dramatic.
Anyways, to the point of this post (I’m sure you can tell by now that I may like to babble… just a little bit)- I have high hopes for this blog. I hope that by me sharing my journey, you’ll find inspiration and have a few laughs along the way. So without further ado….. I present to you, Louisiana Girl in Pearls.
